Anyone old enough will remember that when riot squads and large units of police were deployed in the past, that the officers had their badge and numbers stitched to the front of their jackets. This was obviously to provide clear identification. Both for citizens, and fellow officers.
They looked like cops with helmets and big numbers on. A thin Blue line tasked with an absolutely thankless job.
They will also remember a common sight at these events was the clear plexiglass visor over the officers faces - to both protect them, and also to allow the citizens and fellow officers they were communicating with to see their facial expressions and identify them.
The new “police” (we see everywhere - East, West, North, South, capitalist, communist - no matter) look like the baddies / bad guys from GI Joe.
Like Cobra.
Their faces are covered with balclava's, they sport combat helmets with rails - like special operators. Where the uniforms and knee pads once where, we see bodies covered in BP plating, some to the point of immobility.
Like navy blue Roman gladiators or jet black Japanese Samurai!
Badge numbers? Are you kidding? They want to make it a crime to identify the individual officers involved in such deployments!
Armed? Oh yeah.
These guys don't just have a Billy stick or even a pistol.
Nope.
Armed to the well-hidden teeth. Equipped with two or even more sidearms, often incl a ‘non-lethal’ weapon, and some will have some sort of military grade submachine gun slung. Interesting days at the academy, I guess…
We frequently see theses new enforcers zip tie people, rather than handcuffing them.
Would I be out of line to also point out that many of them have outrageous accents and are covered in tattoos? Some of my colleagues in security and analysis have suggested that this says something about new recruiting measures. Perhaps something to do with diversity and equity “loopholes” (ie policy) ?
The end result? Every deployed police action looks more and more like the elite anti-terror squad. Well, a very unfit, overweight reunion of foreign/soviet era terror squads, at any rate.
And what about those deployments, eh?!
A real shortage of “Cobras” when the cities were burning in 2019 and 2020. Just a few clueless citizens and regular cops being shot at and beaten. No cordons of Cobras when a racist maniac drove through a PARADE at Christmas time.
Oh, but the balaclavas are out in full force for Freedom protesters in Australia, Europe, and the truckers with the bouncy castle kids in Canada.
For real: What gives? Highly effective against honking horns, old men, and truckers? Naked kiwi ladies only?
Could they -at least- NOT stop the guy driving INTO those protesters in Winnipeg? An event replete with the helmeted and masked enforcers?
Apparently not.
Apparently that kind of “proactive policing” is beyond our modern Cobras.
So…Is “policing” now about politics instead of crime?
Sure stinks like it, and increasing numbers of police seem to think so.
Many are retiring and resigning.
Who is making these destructive policy decisions? How are they able to get these changes done globally?
Well, whoever it is they clearly don't give a s*** that the public cannot identify who they are; or that their new Cobra style cops could and have been imitated, very easily by bad actors. The anonymous, obscure nature of their field kit allows for such imposters to lethally fool the public. That risk is, apparently, acceptable.
It appears that what matters to this organizing force we’ll call “Cobra Commander” is that these new breed of policy enforcement officers can be identified by them and their immediate command.
Again, like masked operators in cells - not cops.
More and more of what we're seeing is simply just not traditional policing. Let’s face it: “Policing”, like the words “man” or “woman’, or even “vaccine” is being redefined.
You know? Like the guy in the wig?
Whatever the Orwellian brand - and with or without the wig - the new ‘Cobra’ unit exhibits the same qualities as a a deployed combat unit, moving amongst indigents/locals.
Okay, so we've established something's happening to the cops, it's organized, and it's changing significant portions of the police into something that more resembles Cobra from GI Joe than Lord Peel’s idea about public safety.
Okay, so: Just one question left, then.
Who or what the actual foxtrot is “Cobra Commander”?
